The BRASH 10: Celebrity Chefs
When did celebrity chefs become rock stars? Remember when Julia Child was the only chef anyone in America had ever even heard of (if you don't count, my favorite, Chef Boyardee, of course)? Well, this is a new day and anyone who knows his or her way around a kitchen and has an ounce of telegenic charisma can now become a bona fide star. Ingrid Hoffman
This Colombian-born firecracker has exploded into the American food scene most obviously from her hit show on the Food Network called Simply Delicioso (Simply Delicious). Her concept is to take Latin food's bold flavors and textures and combine them in a simple, you-too-can-do-this-at-home manner. Her vibrant, infectious personality is also a big draw.
